Absolutely love this watch, I don't normally buy quartz watches but I love the watch's back story not to mention its design. It's a perfect companion to my Omega Speedmaster. The high frequency quartz movement is so far extremely accurate and the chronograph central seconds hand moves in a sweeping motion at 4 beats per second making it appear like a manual second hand, pretty cool, unfortunately the sub second hand at 6 o'clock moves at 2 beats a second (still impressive for a quartz) which looks like a normal quartz beat.
I assume this is to save battery life. I am pleasantly surprised at the 3D look of the dial, the minute/second chapter ring is sunken lower than the dial and the sub dials are sunken as well while the tachymeter is raised to just beneath the crystal, looks amazing in the light. The chronograph pushers are a spectacular. Excellent watch for under $150. The face is very handsome the date window with three date display is easy to read, and fact that it's eco drive at this price make this a winner.
I was in the market for a big Hamilton Aviator and this watch is much cheaper and looks very nice. The band was a disapointmemt. It seems like Citizen spent a nickel on what felt like cheap foam that looked like cheap leather. So I bought a T tech leather band for under 20 bucks on Amazon and swapped it out. I kept with the honey brown and the white contrast stiching theme. The watch iself is light weight and although I have not yet encountered face scratches the face mineral glass feels like what you get on a cheaper watch. For the mineral and the bad band I take a star off but. I love this watch!!I spent a lot of time researching, and after deciding on the Seiko SNA411 I was not disappointed!
I wanted a Seiko/Citizen type quartz with a slide-rule. I didn't want a really expensive automatic (hello Breitling Navitimer), but I liked the busy looking dial that it had. It was between this and a Citizen Nighthawk type of watch, but I preferred the styling and price of the Seiko. Also I liked this dial more than the newer solar versions (personal taste). This watch has a very sturdy, heavy build feel to it, and looks fantastic. The only thing is that the inner ring of the slide rule is a bit small, but you just have to hold it a bit closer to read it. I have fairly normal eyesight, and I can read it just fine (some reviewers complained they couldn't read it). Lume is decent.
Nice quality. Very nice Bulova Special Addition watch! The 3 dimensional look of the dial is very nice. Very accurate and a nice repo of Dave Scott's Apollo 15 Moon watch. The case is large and the stainless bracelet version which I bought weighed 6.47oz right out of the box.
If your into lightweight small dial watches, this is not for you. I prefer smaller watches myself but I sized the bracelet abit snug and it feels good. I would recommend this watch due to its interesting Apollo history. Overall a great purchase!!! This is a great watch and fully functional as an aviator watch, numbers of the rotating bezel are a bit small, but they are readable to people with normal sight. It has stop watch function and it looks, feels, and works great.I noticed some of the other reviews commented on the crown either breaking or being loose, well.
Champion Bold Pilot Watches
This is normal, its not broken and its normal to stay loose until you screw it on (the original status of the crown is screwed into its place in a way that you can't snap it out, you have to unscrew it first then snap it out one click to set up the date or two clicks to set up the time, then after you finish you have to snap it back in then screw it clockwise as far as it can go, the manual say that the watch is not.
